Oil Painting – (full day)

A hands on day of painting with this rich and vibrant medium.
The first section of the workshop will be dedicated to the handling and application of oils using a range of different tools and mediums. We will explore colour mixing and tonal value to really add life and depth to your artwork.
Once familiar with the processes involved, each participant will have a choice of subject to work from on canvas, and individual guidance to help achieve beautiful results. Suitable for beginners to advanced.
Watercolour Painting – (full day)
Cost: €95- includes materials
A wonderful day of watercolour painting. We will begin by getting familiar with our tools and materials through carrying out exercises in application techniques including: wet on wet, layering glazes, scumbling, masking and lifting. The rest of the day will include painting a study of a natural / botanical form.
As watercolour painting has it’s own slow rhythm this is a relaxing and peaceful workshop. Suitable for beginners to advanced.
Painting a landscape – Acrylic on Canvas – (full day)
Cost: €95- includes materials
A fun and guided step-by-step workshop where participants will complete a landscape painting on canvas. Weather and setting dependent, we will work either from real life landscape or images, and will cover colour mixing and application for effect, use of different brushes, palette knife and rags, also covering the use of a grid to assist with perspective and proportion.
An enjoyable and engaging class with a finished artwork at the end! Suitable for beginners to advanced.
Drawing
Observational Drawing – Graphite Pencil – (full day)
Cost: €95- includes materials
A structured introduction to drawing and getting familiar with the pencil range. Participants will be led through warm up sketching exercises and practical techniques used to improve observation and shading. We will cover areas such as composition, tonal value and negative space whilst drawing from a still life arrangement.
A lovely chance to build your confidence with the beauty of drawing.
This workshop is suitable for everyone, beginners to advanced, no previous drawing skills necessary.
Mosaic
Mosaic Workshop (full day / weekend)
Cost: €95/€190 includes materials
The most popular workshop by far! Spend a day (though I recommend two) captivated by the colours, shapes and process of mosaic.
The session we will cover use of tools, design and process. You will create your own unique piece of mosaic art, whilst completely switching off from everything else.
A fun, hands on, practical workshop with fabulous results. Guaranteed to get the creativitiy flowing! No previous experience necessary, and suitable for all levels of ability. Participant numbers are limited to 6 for this class to ensure everyone has plenty of individual attention and guidance. Stained Glass
Make a Glass Sun-Catcher – Copper-foil Technique (full day/weekend)

Learn the basic techniques of glass construction, working with a range of stunning coloured glass to produce a simple glass sun-catcher of your own.
Through the session we will cover use of tools, design and process, and you will gain practical experience through cutting, grinding, copper-foiling and soldering your own piece. A fun and practical workshop in this beautiful craft. No previous experience necessary, but beware this is a very addictive hobby!
Participant numbers are limited to 6 for this class to ensure everyone has plenty of individual attention and guidance. Fused Glass Jewellery
Fused Glass Jewellery (full day)

Design and make your own jewellery in this stunning medium. Experiment with shapes, styles and colours to create jewellery that is truly unique. During the workshop participants will be able to make several pieces of jewellery suitable for pendants, brooches and earrings. Learn the basic techniques of cutting and shaping glass, working with a range of stunning coloured and dichroic glass to produce several pieces of jewellery of your own design.
Through the session we will cover the use of tools, design and processes involved, and you will gain practical experience through every stage, as well as knowledge of using a kiln. Your work will be ready for firing at the end of the workshop. A fun and enjoyable workshop, with surprising results. Suitable for beginners to advanced. (Please note that the process of fusing glass work takes time, so finished pieces will be ready for collection in the following week, or sent on to you by post). Fused Glass Panel
Fused Glass Panel (full day)
Cost: €95- includes materials
Create a one-off, unique and beautiful panel through the method of fusing glass. Through this workshop you will be assisted with design as well as cutting, shaping and layering glass. We will be working with coloured and dichroic glass, as well as introducing the use of wire into the process. Through the session we will cover the use of tools, design and processes involved, and you will gain practical experience through every stage, as well as knowledge of using a kiln. Your work will be ready for firing at the end of the workshop. A playful workshop with lots of room for creative ideas. Suitable for beginners to advanced. (Please note that the process of fusing glass work takes time, so finished pieces will be ready for collection in the following week, or sent on to you by post).

A selection of full day (10am – 4pm) or weekend art workshops with expert guided tuition, in a relaxed and friendly setting.
Sessions are suitable for all levels from complete beginners to advanced. Come and try something new, or just treat yourself to a few hours of creative bliss, the programme can be adjusted to fit your individual requirements.
Group sizes are kept small to accommodate individual attention. All workshops include quality materials and equipment, teas and coffees. Discounts available for group bookings. Sessions take place either in my home studio near Scariff, Co. Clare or in selected venues.
